Review: I live in Northern Virginia and its cold now a days, but not on this Saturday. I grab “The Boys” by Garth Ennis, grab my bottle of water, grab my supplies and last but not least, a Tatuaje Series P. Perfect day for a good read and a good smoke.
On the toast up I got a nice easy burn, with a very light smoke, but great aroma. I love when cigars give out that great smell on the toast up, because you cant wait to smoke it.
On the 1st puffs I got a very strong peppery spice. It was so strong, it gave me a little tingle feeling on my bottom lip. I hate over powering spice on cigars, I was hoping for the best, but I had a feeling this was a bad sign of things to come. If you know anything about me, its that I hate “The Evil Spice Monkey“. Not today ! Please not today ! The sun is bright, I got my comic, im feeling good ! Please not today.
Puffing away and moving my way towards the half way point, the very strong peppery spice went away and so did that tingle feeling on my lip. Instead of a bad strong spice, I got hit with hints of almonds, little dashes of cinnamon on top of a woody coffee taste. Very pleasing.
Towards the end of the smoke, you get lots of nutty almonds with some woody and coffee flavors. The flavor profile didn’t change much, it stayed very consistent through out the smoke and the best part is The Evil Spice Monkey didn’t come back. Take that Evil Spice Monkey !
The burn was capital A, Amazing. Perhaps, the best burn ive ever had on a cigar. The ash was strong and flaky, beautiful white with dark grey spots. A+ for the burn and ash.
Final Note: I don’t have much to add, except I was really pleased by the end of the smoke. This was my 1st Tatuaje and I have more waiting for me in the humi. I can see this being a good everyday “go to smoke“. And like I mentioned before, the burn was amazing. It’s a good sign for the rest of the Tatuajes and I cant wait to try the rest. Do I recommend it? Yes.
